Forums - Gaming - Stephen King hits out at anti-videogame bill

Next the legislators will blame violence in video games for all the problems society has, and not bother looking at any other factors, like bad parenting, poor education system (though I've heard we tried making sure "no child is left behind"), drugs (which usually result from the formers), not to mention all the other ways kids are "introduced" to violence, like movies, tv shows, and books. But hell, scape goats are the way to go. Why address the problem when you can just place blame on something?

my wife is a teacher and after seeing first hand (been in her class) as wekk as going to teacher parties i can honestly say this is a horrible program all it has done ti take away the teachers ability to hold a student back till they have learned the material

This is bull, similar to what Jack Thompson was trying to do with the GTA franchise.

What is crazy is that I just bought his more than recent movie he directed and that is "The Mist".

I hope its good :)

I think this is grounds to forgive King for the mediocre last few books of the Dark Tower series.

I've forgiven him long ago.

He gave us the Green Mile timed releases series. Honestly, what more can you ask for from this great American. Not even Nintendo is that consistant.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Steven King didn't direct The Mist. He just wrote the book like 25 years ago.

...and fyi, the book as a much better ending than the movie.

Either way, it's a good DVD, I would recommend at least a rent.
