Forums - Gaming - Jim Ryan - The Phil Spencer of Sony.

I think this Jim Ryan character from Sony is aspiring to be Phil Spencer. We're starting to hear more and more of him since E3, and more times than none when he opens his mouth, it's like "Is this guy for reals?"  Phil has a history, and I think Sony wants that.  Or maybe they need someone to speak up amidst the Xbox One X hype.  So maybe it's Jim vs. XOX.  You know, to quell the angst of the Sony dedicated.  Just like Phil who kept opening his mouth since the PS4 Pro reveal, you'll hear Jim running his thoughts out until the Xbox One X launch.  And then you'll hear Xbox fanatics firing back.  Brace yourselves.

More like the Don Mattrick of Sony.

3DS, Wii, PSP, Vita, PS2, PS3, PS4 & Steam.

Um noo

He's says stupid stuff but the Sony community can see his BS. Papa Phil is more weasel like and the Xbox community feel the need to stick up for him.

I'm really not sure MS has anything that Sony wants to replicate when it comes to PR, and I certainly don't think they're afraid that the X1X is going to put a noticeable dent in their market share, or cause their fanbase any "angst" as you so put it..

Jim Ryan is the head of Marketing & Sales and he only really comes out of the woodwork after an event of some kind. Phillip is the actual head of Xbox and the one who makes most of the decisions, as opposed to just thinking up PR to rationalize them. That's why Phillip is scrutinized way more and held more responsible for both his words and his actions.

They both say ridiculous things. Only difference is Phil gets lauded while Ryan gets slated.
