Well, we'll see what happens to their games if Vivendi manages to purchase them!!

Never thought about this, very true! Well done Ubi.
There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'
While their big AAA new IPs often end up being underwhelming, the smaller stuff they've turned out on the UBIArt engine has been impressive. Child Of Light was fantastic and only held back by the fact that it was rushed, Valiant Hearts was touching and well put toghether and Rayman Legends (I know, I know not a new IP) is one of the best Platformers ever created and I wish they'd do a sequel that is only based on musical levels.
This year I've mostly been impressed by Far Cry to be honest, it looks like a truly fresh take on the Franchise, something that was needed.
Watch dogs just seems more like a GTA clone which doesn't play as well. I was impressed with it technically but couldn't really get into it. Yes it has a few new gameplay ideas but overall its not a particularly satisfying game. It feels like a game more about an idea than playability when it was first developed. I only judge games by the game and not the publisher and Ubisoft have been all over the place for me. I can't think of a ubisoft game I payed full price for in recent times most have been heavily discounted before I gave them a chance. I felt the Zombi U game on wii u needed more fine tuning to improve the gameplay. It felt a bit raw. Still liked it and great atmosphere but it didn't seem like it had been properly playtested before launch. It dropped in price so quickly on wii u that I assume sales were quite bad. I'd only had the wii u five minutes before it was sub £20 in the uk it seems which is when I bought it.
Started playing classic Far Cry on ps3 recently and was surprised how badly they had done the graphics and intro sequence on it so I guess I'm a bit pee'ved with their effort. It looks like a direct port of low quality pc assets from the original game with even the original xbox version looking and playing much better. Looked like an afternoon spent by a junior programmer.

And most of their new games seem to resonate well with gamers. Watch Dogs 2 was apparently really, really good. People love Far Cry, The Division, the last AC, R6: Siege, For Honor, Zombi. Also thought Ghost Recon Wildlands wasn't that bad. Despite so many games, they always seem to have a hit on their hands in sales charts.
| WolfpackN64 said: Zombi isn't a new IP, it's their oldest. They can be lauded for output, but cranking out new IP's doesn't relate to quality. Ubisoft makes as much good games as they make "eh" ones. |
Thats like saying MGS isn't new because MG on the MSX existed. 2 completely different games from 2 completely different eras that only share a title.

It's not the same game, but it is the same IP.
They're my favorite 3rd party publisher, for sure! Bringing that many new IP's to the table is commandable!, and quite a few of them have done great, while others have stumbled. Hopefully this will pay off in the long run
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I dunno. I don't think the newness of an IP is inherently good. A lot of Ubisoft's new properties play poorly.
I think Ubisoft Montpellier deserves a lot of love, but not the larger company. Being slightly less sleazy and cynical than two of the more untrustworthy publishers out there isn't exactly something to celebrate.
