Yo what up guys?

Yeah anyway, i read somewhere that the 360 is gonna reach 2 million units sold in the upcoming weeks which is great news. But my problem is that on VG Chartz they have the 360 sittin on 2,130,000 units or something like that so its being over tracked by more than 130,000 units. Does anyone know if this will be changed in the next update of numbers so that people get a better knowledge of how the 360 is doin and to improve the sites accuraccy? I mean overtracking a console by over 130,000 units is a pretty big "error" (or whatever you want to call it) and yes i am well aware of Ioi's policy of it will be balanced out over time but wouldn't it be easier just to update the numbers?

ioi addressed this already: http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=22351

Funny how I've seen people in various threads wanting ioi to adjust his UK 360 sales because it's "overtracked" by 130k. Yet, these same people ignore that ioi "overtracked" the PS3 by 60k. ioi has "overtracked" LTD UK sales of the 360 by 6.1%, PS3 by 5.2%. OH NOOOESS!!!1!!!11!

By all means. If you catch a mistake on the site feel free to bring it to everyones attention. I'm sure the Ps3 fans wouldn't mind getting their numbers adjusted. So please don't single out these people. EVERYONE can voice their opinion. If you don't want to correct mistakes then don't say anything, but if you don't say something don't go crying about it because no one brought it up. That would all fall on you then.

LOL It's not my job to correct "mistakes."  It's ioi's site and he can correct whatever, and whenever, he wants.  My point was that 6.1% and 5.2% is close enough to Chart Track that it's ridiculous for anyone to "go crying" (your words, not mine).

Yeah you're right. That low percent doesn't justify someone bringing it up.

I hope for your sake that you don't get in charge of a multi million dollar business. Because 5% ($50,000 min.) isn't enough to bring it to anyones attention. (In my line of work if you were off of your numbers by 1.5% you would miss your bonus for the month [$900]. 20k missing at one location for the year is a big difference)

 Wow, what a nice comparison.

Who said people couldn't bring it up?

How close does ioi have to be for people to be happy? 3%? 1.5%? 0.00786549%? I know, why doesn't ioi just copy NPD and Chart Track's numbers?

You did. close enough to Chart Track that it's ridiculous for anyone to "go crying" (sure it isn't saying people cant but you are saying people shouldn't)

And 5% is very close. It is justified that people bring it to his attention though (5% of millions is a lot). People (including ioi) want accuracy. If there is a report that differs with ioi I'm sure he wouldn't mind taking a look over the report and his data and adjusting as he sees fit.

5% is definatly close enough for his estimations (acceptable and respectable), but since we have reports that say other numbers it's time for adjusting.  Ioi even understands this.

Imagine if ioi didn't adjust his number as reports came in. His numbers would be just as whacked as nextgenwars.com. The accuracy wouldn't be 5% then it would be like 20%. No one wants that.

Brought to his attention?  (key word there is brought) Yeah, 5 days ago. He addressed it. Do you think ioi is oblivious the other organizations numbers? I'm sure he views them before many of us. If he feels his numbers need to be adjusted then they will be, in due time.

I love how you change your arguement so often. =\

I don't know, this is pretty consistent.

"It's ioi's site and he can correct whatever, and whenever, he wants."

"If he (ioi) feels his numbers need to be adjusted then they will be, in due time."

I still feel it's ridiculous for people to worry about a 5% difference. Adjustment, no adjustment it's ioi's decision. The numbers are close enough to even out over time w/o adjusting.

That comparison really is a very poor one. We're not talking about revenue, profit or whatever you're exactly referring to, we're talking about sales tracking numbers. And unless you cover 100% of the market there will always be a margin of error. Hell, Media Create and Famitsu might be 5% off compared to each other when looking at consoles LTDs, and they are both profession tracking services. Being off 6% compared to Charttrack really isn't a big difference.
