Hmm, if you read the full discourse, he gives basically three different answers to the very same question. He's deflecting. It's typical PR speak, masking the real issue. Security, Money? Who knows.

Sony need to be transparent about the specifics of their cross-play policies. As it stands they're being pretty confusing. No cross-play at all for MC, but Rocket League is fine with PC. Then with FF14 they're open to cross-play with everyone, but MS seemingly aren't. It's a bit of a mess.

Yeah, and all in all, it seems weird to attack Sony for this exclusively when Microsoft has been just as strict about crossplatform play in the past. Cross-play policies seem more complex and fluid than most of us know, and I'm starting to wonder if Microsoft simply loosened the reigns to try to come across as good guy Microsoft as Sony's sales lead grows.

Make no mistake: these cross-play announcements are all about the PR. Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony don't care one lick about if people can or can't play together off their individual systems. It's just about looking good to close the gap a little.

This is one of the weakest BS responses I've ever heard. Honestly something I would expect from Nintendo in regards to blocking MP features for no reason. Hate when companies get too big for their boots.
