Forums - Gaming - I'm not a shooter fan and I'm looking forward to COD WWII.

There are several genres I'm not a fan of: shooters, racers, and sports.  Of course, I'll take a few exception depending on the situation so I have to admit I'm looking forward to COD WWII.  It's more of an admiration for history behind the game as opposed to the game itself.  In fact I think that games like this gives us a visual interactive reminder of what was, not to make light of the sacrifices men and women have made in the military.  COD WWII will be a bargain purchase for me but it will still be a purchase among my other favorable genres.

The M1 Garand *Ping* sound did it for me, i was already sold on the game after that.

Reminds me of the good old CoD 1 & 2 on PC days.

Always loved the setting, but the developers behind the series are too far gone up the cash-cow and franchise butthole to produce something worthwhile now, I'm afraid. I could be wrong, but the odds of an actual good CoD single player campaign seems microscopic from where I'm sitting.

I'm not too interested in it myself. I'd rather a WWII game focused outside of the European front that we've already seen so many times.

I felt the same way last year with Infinite Warfare. Not a huge fan of FPS, haven't touched a CoD title in forever, but I saw enough Battlestar Galactica in IW to make a bargain bin purchase.

The first WWII setting game that got my attention was EA's Metal of Honor back in 2003.  Now, Activision has been running with it with space and zombie themes which make no sense seeing where the game originally came from.  It's a cash cow, yes, but they have gone way too far off the mark recently.
