Forums - Gaming - Is gaming in trouble?

I might be wrong, but it seems we only got one new AAA ip this E3 which was anthem. That is kind of distrubing and I have to guess investors are very scared to invest their money more than ever.

Nope.

I know at least one AAA new IP that releases this year and wasn't at E3. You just need better sources.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

No we had more then one New IP, from Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft and EA conferences there were the following:

Skull and Bones
Anthem
Star Child
The Inpatient
Bravo Team
Moss
Super Lucky's Tale
Transference
Starlink: Battle for Atlas
A Way Out

Anthem is the only one that looks like it could be a massive franchise, Skull and Bones could be good but I have reservations.

We've already had Horizon and Nioh as hit new IP's this year too... gaming isn't in trouble.

I do like games to have a certain level of quality but it does not have to be AAA for me.

For example I thought Ashen was one of the best looking games I saw at E3 and its at the top of my list of games I want to play. Sure its not AAA but it looks great.

No. People's expectations are too damn high.

Lucky isn't a new IP. It was released on Oculus awhile back. The rest I think are right, though.

True, Ashen does look dope.

"this pace is actually the fastest the PS4 has ever sold in the first half of the year"

I think gaming will be fine.

Most publisher already have a lot of established IP. There is little reason to invest your money to new, unknown IP unless you made your own console and you're the only one making games for it.

A handheld gamer only (for now).
