different games for different gamers. Crackdown will sell to those who dont like FPS games. I see no harm in selling it next to CoD and BF

All genres were harmed last year within that window between cod and battlefield one.titanfall got wrecked and other games had to have price drops. Weren't you paying attention?

The bigger issue is that it looked bad.

Microsoft didn't even show us smooth gameplay. They showed and endless shooting montage. It was annoying. If they know what's good for them they will release gameplay at the gamespot or ign stage shows.

I don't think it matters when they launch it tbh, Xbox exclusives tend to have a hard time no matter when. Just look at Quantum Break or Halo Wars 2, they launched early in the year and did terribly.

If it's not Halo(not wars), Forza or Gears it probably won't do well. But maybe Crackdown will beat the odds.

True. Quantum break wasn't critically acclaimed either. I heard gears of war might have been affected last year by the launch schedule.

It'll flop miserably, most likely. This is one of the few actual first party games they had at E3, that they had previously been talking about as this big time thing, and now they barely even pushed it at all. I mean Sea of Thieves, which isn't even coming out this year got like 4x the screen time that Crackdown did, which they're launching alongside the Xbox One X. What does that tell you? It tells me, that the game is probably gonna be shit, and they just wanna get it out the door and wash their hands of it. Then when it gets bad reviews, and sells fuck all, they'll use it as another excuse to say that making new games is a waste of time.

Well said. You explained your feelings well. I fear for sea of thieves no matter what time that game drops. Everyone within red deads launch window needs to beware. That entire month belongs to rockstar.

Umm Titanfall is a FPS in direct competition with COD and BF. Crackdown 3 isnt.

Also Titanfall sold alot.

Probably the same thing that happened to Rise of the Tomb Raider a couple years ago, got overshadowed by bigger games releasing at/around the same time.

You have to blame Microsoft for paying for timed exclusivity though. They thought uncharted was launching at the same time and Sony dodged a Bullet finding a peak period to launch for great sales .

It doesn't matter what genre. Almost all games that launched in November and December had immediate price cuts. It was a saturated end to the fourth quarter

Yeah, I was specifically talking about the XBO version of RotTR, I think it launched the same day as Fallout 4.

I know. That was the game that Microsoft needed to combat uncharted before Sony pushed the date back. November is cod and battlefield territory too. Fallout being there too was overkill. Sony dodged a bullet.
