Can't we have both. But if I had to decide, new games since if I only wanted the bc games i'd just buy/keep the older consoles and play them on that.

Obviously new AAA games (whether its a new IP or not), and just new games in general regardless of budget.

If you look at every OG Xbox game I think you'll see some content that people would really like on this service.
It got a big reaction because people wanted this and they know its potential. That's the kind of reaction fan service gets.

Funny title.
Exclusivity isn't important to me as a consumer, that's important to a console manufacturer. I don't have less fun with games if they're multiplat.
X1 has many AAA games and BC, that's what I primarily care about. MS needs to do strong exclusives for their sake, not mine as a consumer.

I guess, I mean....the OG Xbox gamers that I primarily liked were all on PC (and still looks good). As I told someone else, I missed Ninja Gaiden Black on the Xbox but played the superior version on the PS3. Not only that, but I had the Dreamcast. Its the same story with how Microsoft hooked me onto the 360, because they had Mass Effect and that was yet another PC game that went PC/ Xbox multiplat for some time. The games have already shown their potential and thats why its called backwards compatibility. This is why first party is so important. It makes backwards compatibility that much more valuable to customers who missed games. If Nintendo tells me the Switch is getting BC...I am going to flip because ive missed out on years of first party content.

Regular food of course.
Regular food you can feed to cows to make milk to make more ice cream.

I considered everything you've said even before this was announced, we all knew this could happen. Some of these games have superior versions on newer platforms, some games have more polished versions on PC, these are valid points.
But there are still a lot of games that are fine on OG Xbox and will be even better on X1 BC. Its extra value, people can revisit some of their favorites and we can play notable games we missed. If games like Morrowind or KOTOR come to the service, odds are I will play them just because I can do so on my X1.
3rd party content can also be very important to BC. the most requested games are generally 3rd party. Black Ops 2, RDR, etc.

Third party is very important. I agree and I thank Microsoft for that, but imagine how great their BC would be with strong first party with identity. Sony and Nintendo to some degree could do these things and bank on old games. They need to take notes from Microsofts cloud based BC. I know Nintendo will, but the question is when?

i think so too. My words.

Well if the new games are as good (or better) than the old games, then new. However that rarely seems to be the case imo |
I understand : D Good games will always exist :) 2017/18 are in my opinion the best games-years of recent years.

Microsoft had 1 exclusive AAA game this E3.
So hopefully all the microsoft owners are voteing "backward compatibility".
