MS better hope they don't, as that would take the wind out of their sails before they even launch.  And it's not impossible.  We have had a rumor about a Pro Slim.  Some were thinking it was about a PS4 Super Slim, but I doubt it.  It would also be Sony's cost cutting coming to fruition.  Lowered cost thanks to no 4K Bluray drive.  Instead of a completely new GPU, they just doubled up on the one they have been ordering for the OG PS4 already.

Now, if the Scorpio is $399, I think Sony may go aggressive.  However, if it is $449+, I doubt they will feel the need to, and just cut it by $50.

Why would they go aggresive? They are way ahead in sales and in this gen they havent seen to be very aggresive.

They just released a PS4 that's gold AND has a 1TB HDD for just $249.  And they say it's limited, but they made sure to put out enough that Amazon hasn't sold out, yet, even though it's been in the Top 5 for hours, now.  I'd say that's pretty aggressive.  Like I said, we'll see.

Can't wait to get an xbox scorpio. True 4k gaming/ 4k textures and not some fake 4k shenanigans a certain console is trying to pull of.

Well, then prepare to be disappointed, because the Scorpio will be employing some of those shenanigans, too.  If you want true 4K gaming, you're going to have to get a PC.  Or wait for the PS5.  Though, that may even use 4K checkerboarding on some games if the devs want to push the HW even more.

The 1TB PS4 was already $300 so a $50 pricecut makes sense mid year for that bump in sales. The real bump will come in the holidya when the 500gb model is $199.

All Microsoft first party is confirmed to be 4k. Also, there is a list that shows star wars battle front 2, Cod and Destiny going to be running at 4k native. Sorry.

They're selling their normal 1TB for $299.  This is supposed to be a limited edition run.  You don't normally price those $50 cheaper than your normal price.  Hence aggressive.  There's no denying Sony has been more aggressive this gen with price than last gen.  Mostly because they can be.  That's why there is a chance they go $299 with the Pro this holiday season.

Sony isn't going to do a price drop that loses them money. Keep that in mind because Sony is banking on playstation because Sony as a company has been suffering everywhere else.

Its probably just for a bump in sales before the slow summer months. The PS4 this year in the US has outsold the XB1 by around 2:1 unless their going after the switch but i dont think they see it as competition.

If Microsoft wants this thing to succeed in terms of sales it has to launch at $399. Because Sony will cut the Pro to $299.

It's this reason that I think it's very possible. Why build a super powerful $499 console that only a small niche would buy at that price.

This is huge, may lead to a 299 Pro over the holidays. hnnnnggggg. Can't even imagine how much a pro would sell at that price.

Yeah, unless MS has some far superior deals on components than Sony, then if MS can make a profit at $399 for Scorpio then Sony should be able to make a profit at $299 for Pro by the time Scoprio launches.

Should be an interesting holiday.

You mean the list from the fanboys at Windows Central?  The ones that said those games will look superior to the PC version?  I'll wait til official info comes out, thanks.
