If Microsoft wants this thing to succeed in terms of sales it has to launch at $399. Because Sony will cut the Pro to $299. So even at $399 they probably won't beat it.
It's this reason that I think it's very possible. Why build a super powerful $499 console that only a small niche would buy at that price.
