Forums - Gaming - Tekken 7: First To Take No 1 Spot In UK For Almost 20 Years

Bandai Namco's PS4, Xbox One and PC fighter Tekken 7 has debuted at the top of the UK All Formats Top 40.

It's the first Tekken title to claim the top spot since Tekken 3 for the PS1 way back in 1998. The most recent Tekken release, Tag Tournament 2, charted at No.2 in 2012. 2009's Tekken 6, meanwhile, managed only No.8 in its first week.

And the split is interesting too:

PlayStation 4 (83%)
Xbox One (16%)
PC (1%)

The PS5 Exists.

20 years? Wait what?

Holy crap, Tekken 3 came out in 1998.

... god, I'm old.

Anyway, glad it's doing well, split is expected, it's a PS game even if it's on other platforms. :P

Hmm, pie.

Headline makes it look better than it is (not directing this at Gribble). I never seen japan/uk so low before for software sales. Did we get numbers?

That split is insane for the ps4 version. And the UK xbox and ps4 are close. WW the ratio will be crazy.

Holy shit, that split is insane. I guess it's to be expected as the PS$ is dominating EU but still.
Anyways, Glad tekken 7 is at the top, it is fantastic and I'm loving every inch of it.

Since no one else has said it, I will. That split is insane.

Well done, Tekken. Hope you pull the numbers you deserve.

Wouldnt be surprised if its like ~90% of sales are on PS4.

Imagine MS trying to Money Hat a game like this.

It would cost them to fortune to take it off ps4. On the other hand it wouldn't cost Sony that much to take it off xbox and have it ps4/pc. But they probably couldn't be bothered because they get such a high split anyway.

Why would anybody be surprised/amazed/insaned by the purchase breakdown for a historically PlayStation center franchise? Not only is a Tekken a PlayStation centered franchise, XBOX doesn't even have a fanbase for fighting games in general. I surprised its PS4 isnt over 90%.

Stop ignoring history for the sake of hamming shit up.

How do PC sales only make up 1%? This must only be including retail sales.
