I was thinking about this earlier today, but LeBron's 3 closest friends, Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony are all free agents this year. LeBron has said in the past that he'd be willing to take a pay cut to play with them.

This may be a pipe dream, but just think of this scenario.
LeBron convinces Melo, CP3, and DWade to come to Cleveland, all of them taking paycuts to do so. They sign CP3 and DWade as free agents. They do a sign and trade for Melo and Kevin Love and JR Smith. Then they can move Kyrie Irving to the Shooting Guard position and the Cavs starting 5 could look like this:

PG: Chris Paul
SG: Kyrie Irving
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PF: LeBron James
C: Tristan Thompson
And they have Dwayne Wade as their 6th man.

That would be a substantial pay cut for everyone. So you can be sure to count D Wade out because he's in Chicago for the $$$

Melo is possible, you just trade Love for him straight up. Unless Phil wants extras.

I dont know how it works, but if one team wants to butcher their salary cap in order to overpay their best player, so be it. With so many marquee names in free agency this year, LeBron would be smart to take a paycut so MAYBE he could assemble the Banana Boat squad, but no, he probably wont.

0-3 down and the stage is set for the greatest come back ever in the history of the NBA Finals. One win at a time and hopefully the Warriors allow the Cavs to come back like they did in 2016 NBA Finals.

Nah, he's a quitter who reeks of desperation for a ring. He'll get a ring but we all know what he had to do to get it. There's no changing history.

And that's why I included JR Smith. Because what can he do as my starting shooting guard that Kyrie can't do better? Plus, I'd already have Iman Shumpert coming off the bench, who's a much better defender than Smith is. 
As for those extras, just give him more cash. Since that's all Phil seems to care about over there.

I honestly hope it would get more backlash than the KD move. To be fair, the Warriors drafted all their talent and only acquired 1 big name free agent. If Melo, Wade, and CP3 did this, they are bigger shams than KD.
