Around 80% Switch owners bought Zelda BotW, for instance around 25% PS4 owners bought GTA V, how exactly I am funny!?

by saying that gta V is more popular than zelda, which is false

Uncharted, the last of us, Gran Turismo and God of war. That's 4 mega first party titles that people buy Sony consoles for. You can add Horizon to the list now.
Just because third parties do megaton numbers doesn't mean many millions don't buy a ps for first party.
When all is said and done more will have bought a PS4 for first party then the WiiU had. And that was that consoles main appeal.
The whole reason for Exclusives isn't to sell 15+ million copies of that, I'm sure every developer wants that, but for the majority of people that are not delusional, exclusives exists to widen the gaming library and to diversify the playerbase. Take me for an example, I never would have thought about buying a PS4 for any game except Persona 5, but if you look at my overall Library on PSN(just PS4), I've spent close to $600 on games total($180 just these few months T_T), both multiplatform and exclusives. Now I'm sure I'm not the only one, even if there was 10 of me out there like that, that is $6,000 of revenue generated easy just by having one exclusive. Obviously even if they're not selling 5-10 million copies, they're still making good revenue considering Sony is just pumping out exclusives.

There is nothing about logic, but point that 1st party games are not nearly popular or system sellers like some people are think on PS4. |
At least we agree on something.
Also, who are these some people? And how did you draw that conclusion based on vgc numbers of the 30 best selling games? Why do ignore the rest?

This is just a weird thread. The cutoff point at 30 is also completely arbitrary, since you could just as well say that there are three first party titles in the top 15, or that there are nine first party titles in the top 50. All of which have sold over 2 million copies, so them not being popular is also just false.

You could also spin it to say 3 1st party games in top 15. |
Yes if he stopped at 15th then it would have still been 3. Also if he expanded to top 40... it would have been 7 1st-party titles not 3.
Top 30 was chosen because it exaggerates his point the most. Expand by 10 that adds 4 more 1st-party titles, so can't do that. Reduce by 10 doesn't remove any 1st-party titles so can't do that either!
what's the definition for popular ? how do you know if the game is popular or not ? i think we should begin with these things first

That's not true, if that is true 1st party games would be much higher on list, you woldnt had only 3 1st party games that sold above 3m, most people are buying PS4 for 3rd party games on 1st place and sales proves that. |
No it does not. Selling a system is not the same as selling itself. Units of a first party game sold has nothing to do with how many consoles that game sold. It's always the big picture. People buy the PS4 because due to the breadth of exclusives they are bound to get. Those don't even have to be 1st party, they can also be 3rd party console exclusives.
What matters is that people are promised exclusives and they'll get them. Which ones they actually buy is a completely different matter. Stop comparing the PS4 to platforms who's sole purpose of existence is selling exclusive games. Selling exclusives is not the purpose of the PS4 but it's still the main draw.
