Forums - Gaming - Square Enix 3 year release window overblowing

Here's my thought: within the next three years was not given to a single title, but multiple ones.

That means that KH3 and even FF7 (given that other titles were shown) aren't tied down to 2020. People need to calm down, at least until E3 comes and goes.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Its Internet culture to bloww everything Japanese development side up. What SE is really saying is they will allow no more than 3 years to have these titles out, NOT that it will take 3 years. That's a good thing. Theve givin Nomura a deadline; he needs to be given a one. Nomura can not take more than that amount time.

Square Enix has like one of the worst if not the worst reputation in the industry right now for game release dates/delays/ect.

As you said they mentioned 3 games or something. So I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say that ONE of those games will release in three years.

But they have to prove themselves before any release date statements, especially when talking about years into the future, hold any water at all.

I think much of the issue is the way Tetsuya Nomura works. Whether you like him or not, he is a highly talented creator, but it seems that he often has difficulties bringing projects to completion within a reasonable timeframe. It's difficult to say why this is the case, but maybe he needs someone to oversee the production to ensure that things are finished in time.

Why do people keep saying this about Nomura? His biggest claim to fame is Kingdom Hearts, but that series a fuckin mess. Advent Children was horrible, he couldn't get Versus/XV off the ground. Where is this coming from?

Which part are you referring to? His talent? He is highly talented, I just think he would need someone to hold his reins so to speak and make sure his projects actually progress the way they should. Possibly a co-director would help.

Talented in what Darashiva? That's where I'm confused.

100% with you. What is Nomura's talent? Taking 10 years to do a single game?

Honestly his only talent is being LAZY.

Well, he's designed some popular characters, you can give him that at least!
