Forums - Nintendo - Castlevania wii?

After listening to the ign nintendo voice chat podcast 1,they where talking about a AAA third party game for the wii coming in 09.Then when I came here there was a thread about  a new castlevania for the ds.So to you think there is any chance of a Castlevania game coming to the wii in a near future?

Maybe.

Perhaps

Last I heart, Igarashi (the series producer) doesn't like the Wiimote because he thinks people will expect him to implement motion controls into a CastleVania. Seems a silly thing to be afraid of to me, but then, I'm not Igarashi.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Nah. Castlevania should stay portable. The only case it might be good even on a console though, is if they made it gorgeous 2D.

The only reason people get the idea that Castlevania should be in 2D and not 3D is because Igarashi was forced to rushed the production of them(This applies to LoI and CoD only)

360 whip swinging would be a lot easier with a wiimote...

I don't think i want a Castlevania game with the wii mote (however my mind could change if it's implemented well). The 2 games on the DS were done really well though, i would love for them to make more. The 3d games were kind of good too, especially the ps2 one. I think making a 2d game with 3d graphics would be cool, on the ds.

I don't see the benefits of it going to the Wii. Castlevania has always been at it's best in 2D, and after 4 failed attempts at 3D, it's hard to argue against that. If it were to remain 2D and sprite-based, I would jump for joy, but unfortunately only the PSP and DS get games like that nowadays. The only benefit to putting it on the Wii would be for motion control, and I ask what could be done? Castlevania is very twitch-based in gameplay and that hasn't translated very well to the Wii thus far, with examples ranging from Guilty Gear XX Accent Core to Alien Syndrome. However, whatever the Wii could do with motion controls the DS could probably do with touch control faster and more efficient.
