Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft declares deadline for Yahoo offer

Being brutally honest I think Microsoft buying out Yahoo would probably be better for consumers in the realm of search engines. I have noticed that all the available search engines have become more problematic then instantly usable. Anyone on these forums is bound to vouch for the fact that getting the relevant article you are searching for through a single search engine is like wrestling a ten foot alligator.

I want to see if Microsoft can spur some innovation in the field, and see if they can increase the quality, because the current field most definitely cannot. I am just tired of running a search for a particular piece of information to pull up articles from five years ago. I am sick of having forum threads given as options. I am sick of getting sites that haven't been updated in years, or pulling up weak blogs.

I read people saying that nobody can beat Google, but the truth is Google can be bested all it takes is for one player in the field to offer a better search engine. The engine that brings up the best sources, and makes it simpler for people to find what they want will win.

Microsoft if it doesn't do it themselves might scare the other players into being more aggressive with fine tuning their most fundamental function.
