Xbox 360 sold well in th US but was still consistently outsold worldwide by the PS3 since the day it launched, hence why at the end of the generation it had not only cought up but overtaken, sure microsoft had made more revenue that generation, but the only reason it gained the traction it did was down to it launching a year earlier, had they launched side by side it would have been behind almost the entire time, and you are kidding yourself if you think otherwise

No. no it did not. and two times out of three it lost by a hefty margin.

as for that biggest library of all home consoles claim, perhaps try using a more reliable list.

Yes. The original Xbox sold better than the GameCube and the DreamCast. In hardware, in software, in tie ratio and in number of games.

So even in 6th gen they weren't last place.

In 7th gen it is almost a tie between Xbox 360 and PS3 in hardware and software.

In 8th gen the last place for Xbox One isn't even possible anymore with the discontinued Wii U.

In the other 5 console gens Microsoft wasn't last place either. ;)
