@ sc94597 Does using a Freeloader void your warranty, or did i misunderstand you? If it's the same as the Cube one then it's totally software based, doesn't install anything on your system and there'd be no way for Nintendo to know that you used it.
I used Freeloader with my Gamecube, not only to get games earlier but it was the only way to get 480p with a PAL Gamecube. I don't really see how's it cheating, I"m sorry but if NOE and NOA(ust) don't want to give us the same product at a reasonable price then I'll take my business over the Pacific.

Well if it installs something to unlock the region lock then yes it will change software settings , and it will void warranty. If it just loads in the ram then maybe not. I haven't used one so I don't know how it works.
The freeloader does not void the warranty, nothing is installed on the system.
If you have a hardware based problem i suggest you send it back for repairs, you dont need to tell them you tried a american game just pick a pal version game that you tell them doesnt work and what problem you have, should solve it.

I think this is only exclusive to ssbb , because it's dual layered. There are supposely more dual layer games coming , but none announced AFAIK.

I can't speak for the Wii version per se but considering the Gamecube Freeloader worked on it until some of the first firmware updates blocked it, i assume it works the same. All i know is that when you pushed reset on the system you had to reboot again with the Freeloader before putting your game disc back in the system. This strongly suggests there is no change to the system settings.
Freeloader doesn´t change anything in the system and is totally safe to use, the problem you have is the disclense problem I have the same problem and can´t play duallayer discs.
You can send it to Nintendo to get the lense changed or you can buy a new lense and go to a real electronics repair shop and ask them to change it for you.

I guess thats a problem then, best bet would be to say you got this problem and hope they will fix it without asking more questions or as someone suggested either do it yourself or get a electronics shop to do it for you.
I dont think using a freeloader is actually illegal so they should be required to fix it for you regardless.
If you don´t want to go to an electronics then send it to Nintendo and say the you have problems reading you discs when you play games and that the problem isn´t persistant but comes and goes every now and then.
You could also add (lie) that you have two consoles and that the other never has disc problems, this way even if they test it and don´t find a problem they will change your laser any way.
The last part is probably not nececary (damn forgot how to spell that word please correct me as it is annoying) but will probably help you if they test the laser as they won´t be doing in depth test of it.
