SEGA of Japan announces new ‘Amazing SEGA’ corporate identity

SEGA of Japan have announced today a new corporate identity and video series, called “Amazing SEGA,” that will refocus the company’s “attitude and determination” going forward and also promises more surprises than ever.

SEGA said it came to this new identity by studying how the eye is the first body part to respond to an “amazing” experience. In addition to the announcement, SEGA also released the first video in the series focusing on Yakuza Series Director Toshihiro Nagoshi.

As a company that delivers entertainment with the concept of ‘Amazing SEGA’, the new CI expresses the attitude and resolve to continue to offer customers ‘more surprises, more than ever’ to customers,” SEGA’s announcement read. “In the future, we will introduce it sequentially as a branding tool of each Sega Group company and aim to improve the recognition in the market.”

It will be interesting to see if this new strategy will extend outside of Japan and what meaningful changes it will bring to the company.

Just grow Atlus.... get more talent on board, and spread afew of those atlus guys around, so you have "more" teams and bigger ones.

Done :)

lol

Let's hope this is something more than just words. What would be amazing would be a SEGA that brought back their old franchises.

The only great idea to come out of here is more teams. I agree 100%. SEGA had 8 different development teams throughout the 90's and Dreamcast age. Now they  have 4: one does Sonic, one does Yakuza, ones does Valkyrie and then the last does sports.

Gonna be honest,... I dont care about sonic anymore.

Valkyrie & Yakuza are fine, but my main draw from Sega is their Atlus branch.

As long as Atlus is pumping out good quality RPGs Im happy with Sega.

Its a mantra / company stance change.... their going to focus more on "surprises" than before.

Atleast thats what I got from reading it.

So maybe they ll try more new and wacky types of games, instead of sticking too much to the formula thats been working so far for them.

How many times has sega had a "restart" moment? Seems like after every Sonic fail they give off the impression that they had an epiphany.
