Basch and Ashe were both must have. Penelo just sucked across the board.

Technically he didn't hint at remakes in the slightest. He just said that if any of the games gets attention, it's likely to be a remake instead of a remaster. He didn't hint at there being any remakes in development, or even of any interest in a remake.

What? okay shes not as great as Ashe is.... but...
Penelo base stats cap at: 70str, 76mag, 60vit, 36spd
Thats the 2nd highest mag.
That means shes fantastic for Strength armor based characters (easily cap at 99str), that also require mag stat.
Basch makes a good tank.
Highest Health of the bunch (it doesnt cap at 9999, it just only shows that much), and he has low Vit, so he is easy to cast Decoy on and it lasts longer on him.
Get him to around 9000+ health without bubble, and give him bubble belt (it ll show 9999, but he ll really have like 18,000+ hp).
Nothing will 1shot him.

If FFXII Remake comes on Switch I'll get it. I'm cool with the older games but I want to be able to play them portably.

I think Fran had a "bug" that gave her longer animations for bows.
Bug: Extra 0.2 delay in attack animations:
1. Balthier with Bow, Crossbow, Gun.
2. Fran with Bow (is okay with crossbow, guns)
3. Penelo with Crossbow, Gun.
Fran has the highest base Vit of anyone, and thus is the best possible Foe Breaker you can make.
Balthier I love as a character, but didnt love his stats.
He has kinda lowish str, really low mag, and high spd (almost useless stat).
Its good for daggers/ninja swords I guess (and bows, but that bug issue...).

Yes, but then again everyone can fill any role you want. Personally, I put Balthier, Ashe and Fran over Basch simply because he wears shorts. He is a knight and wears short and somehow that upsets me.
I think some of you might be forgetting that this remaster is based upon the International version, which changes the stats of every character and locks you into one single job (thankfully, this PS4 version apparently leaves you two jobs instead). I didn't want to use Penello but after turning her a White Mage back in the day, I couldn't just remove her from the party at all. She was the only one consistently keeping everyone alive. xD
