because none of the games required any precision in z-axis motion.

Wasn't a problem though, as it could still register a stab just fine.

I wonder if some wii mote+ units simply didn't work correctly or if there's something else going on.

My experience with Skyward sword was that it only responded to stabs less than 50% of my attempts (the rest resulting in a slash or not responding at all), and 80 to 90% success rate on slahes, with the remaining 10-20% responding to either the backwards (reset) motion or going the opposite direction. The motion controls worked fine with flying and bomb bowling, yet during combat it was hit and miss. I tried doing the movements slower or faster, more exaggerated or slight flick of the wrist, but could not get it to work right. All the while having to remember to slowly move the wii mote back to a neutral position before the next move or it would respond to that... It wasn't immersive at all.

So now that ARMS has been out for a few weeks, anyone feel it deserves a mention in this regard?

MK8

It's hard to choose one.

I'd list Wii Sports Resort, Pikmin 3, Skyward Sword, KillZone 3, Metroid Prime 3 and 1-2-Switch.

I'm curious to try Arms and see how good it is.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
