Is the Switch even capable of a reasonable version. I'm not sure they would put the same resources into a version for Switch that they did for ps3 and 360 and those 2 consoles have greater cpu power as well. Saying that I don't know how much cpu resources GTA V needs but it does look on face value a game that needs high cpu resources because there is so much going on in the game world and events happening in the game off screen. 3 Arm A57's at 1ghz surely isn't enough but if it did manage it I think the resolution would be very low in portable mode (vita level) plus the frame rate would struggle and be sub 30 possibly sub 20 a fair amount of time.

I think it would be smart for 3rd parties who are still hesitant to bring their major IPs to Nintendo's console for fear of low sales to release the remastered / enhanced ports of some of their last gen hits on the Switch, as they are basically tapping into an audience that for the most part really didn't play many of the big 3rd party AAA games last gen.  For many Nintendo gamers, this'll be the first time playing a game like Skyrim for example when it's released on the Switch later this year.  R* could bring portable ports of such hits as GTAV and RDR on the console to test the waters.

I was skeptical about 3rd parties porting some of their older titles to Switch before the launch, but after the continued sales success of the Switch with no signs of slowing down and system seller hits like Splatoon 2 right around the corner, I'm willing to bet that Skyrim Switch will sell extremely well for a 6 year old title, especially since it'll be the only game of its kind when it releases in the fall.  Would be great if Bethesda brough over enhanced versions of Fallout 3 / NV for Switch gamers as well.

I'm tending to agree now too. I think Switch could have solid sales for a lot of Western third party ports of the older games but from high profile franchises.

GTAV, Skyrim, Mass Effect Trilogy, COD Black Ops Trilogy, Metal Gear Solid V, etc. stuff like that I could see doing well as well as NBA2K and FIFA.

Maybe not like huge sellers but a solid 800k-2 million in sales in some cases sure. I actually feel there are going to be a fair amount of PS4/XB1 owners that will buy a Switch (maybe 15-20 million or so), the system has appeal to a lot of those gamers IMO because you can't take a PS4/PS3/XB1/360 with you in your bag and they get the bonus of some Nintendo games as well.

Considering this ran at 720p on the PS3/X360 then of course it would run at least at that level on the Switch.

Having purchased the X360 and PS4 version of this game and not actually played them much because of time constraints I would love a Switch version as that is a platform which I can pick up and play when I've got spare time, would buy it both to actually finally be able to play the game and to support 3rd party on the switch.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

No, as I already have it for the PS4.

Why is that?

The game is still charting pretty much everywhere. On platforms it has existed on for years.

I think it would do well on the Switch.

me? probably not.. not really a fan of the franchise. Enjoyed the two first games because they were so silly.. then it got too serious hehe

No, I dislike the franchise.

Nah. I disliked GTA 5 on the 360 so no...

San Andreas on the Switch on the other hand, day 1.

You can make the case that the Nvidia Shield TV can comfortably outperform the ps3 and 360 no question but when you drop the cpu speed by half, then remove 1 cpu altogether for the background operating system and limit the gpu to 150 or 200 gflops for portable mode almost a third of its maximum performance you have massively downgraded its performance and that is no longer certain. Especially when the Switch has maximum memory bandwidth of 25.6GB/s for everything compared to 25.6GB/s+19.2GB/s for ps3 and 256GB/s+22.4GB/s for 360.  There are elements of Switch clearly superior but there are also elements that are easily much inferior too. The Switch simply doesn't have the cpu resources of 360 and ps3 but I guess we will get a better idea when more third party software arrives like Skyrim something that makes the Switch performance level easy to compare with many other systems.

I think I might... I've already bought it twice though, so that'd be hard to commit a third time.
