Unfortunately I think Bulgaria is gonna be a really strong contender to win, the performance was spectacular. I don't like the song and I don't believe anything he is telling when he sings but the whole package feels like a potential winner.

Come on Australia! I've never watched a eurovision before. Probably not going to change this year either. Nothing against it, just never been into these type of shows.

I imagine it's quite a bit better than the idol, x factor and whatever shows though.

the last 2 years Australia had muuuch better songs than this year imo, it seems you guys are already adjusting to the low level of the competition

I don't follow Eurovision or whatever. But why is Australia in it? Australians arent Europeans... right? I mean I dont see the US, Canada, or NZ there

they participated in 2015 as a guest for the 60th anniversary show, because viewer ratings for the show are high in australia and then they got invited for 2016 and 17 aswell - they might become a permanent participant, but that has yet to be decided

there are/were other non-european nations in the contest, Israel has participated regularly since 1973 for example

nah, it was North African and Middle Eastern countries that participated along with the Europeans, but a high ranking executive of the contest said

“We strongly believe the Eurovision Song Contest has the potential to evolve organically into a truly global event. Australia’s participation is an exciting step in that direction.”

so that is an option for the future, if there is enough demand

If it ever became global, could they even call it Eurovision anymore? XD

Eurovision is the organizer, it's a part of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) most european public service broadcasters pay into
