In part yes, changes made to the game since Microsoft bought it have fractured many of the biggest communities, with some liking the changes and others hating them, daily user posts on all of the major forums dedicated to the game are dropping significantly every week and modders for the PC versions are gradually quitting, with existing mods downloads links expiring/becoming inactive, sure, it's still popular, but the insane craze that it once was has long passed.

Minecraft is still a big Indie title, especially in Japan where it's still huge. It's basically what keeps the Vita selling by now over there in Japan

I think when you are bought by one of the biggest multi billion dollar corporations in the world for 2.5 billion dollars, you are offically no longer allowed to be classed as 'indie'.

ok serious question about minecraft on switch/wii uu.. my son has minecraft on xbox one but he somehow found this video on youtube and wants "mario minecraft"...i was thinkin of getting it on switch but i wanna know if their is a big difference between the wii u and switch versions from the xbox one version

Worlds are bgger on NS than on WiiU, 1080p 60 fps on dock mode, and your son can't take the game with him  on a trip or whatever so thats the biggest  difference between xbone and NS... and yes Mario world.

34 years playing games.

average vita game price in japan is ¥6500, minecraft sells everywhere for ¥2200, often on sale for around ¥1500, yet barely scrapes 4k a week..

and it ismost definitely not huge in japan, not anymore, i see minecraft merch in bargain bins everywhere i go because simply put bobody wants it anymore. and for the record I actually live in Japan, so ive watched as the craze came and went.

But looking how well it did on the WiiU, even if the craze is going down I really doubt is going down to the point is not worth it, I'm sure it will get good numbers on Switch, it may even help to revitalize the popularity of the game temporarily

If there's still money to be made, why not? Chances are porting to the Switch was not terribly expensive.

True, i just hope they actually put some effort in this time, the WiiU port was such a retarded effort and wasted opportunity.

I mean, you cant even use the touchscreen to move things around in your inventory for christ sake.
