Ok, so the "incredible" Zelda BOTW sales were really just Nintendo shipping more games than units then... Not really a big accomplishment.

Perhaps globally, but NPD numbers showed over 100% attach rate for March in the US. Sold through + digital, not shipped.

Exactly, sales to customers is sold-through! I omitted to mention that sold-in numbers include digital sales of course.

As far as I know, no other game in history has outsold... erhm, outshipped the console it plays on. Not GTAV, not Pokemon, not even Wii Sports (before someone brings it up, it wasn't bundled in Japan). A 100% attach rate is unheard of. The fact it was also available on Wii U makes it more impressive.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

So if its not sold, then why do people think its so weird that Nintendo SHIPPED more Zelda games than Switch systems then? I mean thats pretty normal to ship more games than systems.

how the hell am i supposed to know what other people think?

The Zelda game is 100% sold because they have specifically said sold in regards to Zelda. It sold more than switches shipped plus large retailers informing us that the switch sells out in hours which tells me that not much difference if any between shipped and sold. Plus The game sold that much 100% no doubt about it because they specifically used that word not shipped but sold

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Can I be the one to point out that software for the switch is way off on this site. I mean I remember 4mil+ software for switch in march but this only shows 2.6mil till April 1st which is dead wrong

It will be interesting to see April numbers and April NPD.

According to NPD, which track sales to consumers, the switch sold 906,000 against 925,000 for Zelda in March. It did actually outsell the console. I don't get the confusion when NPD made this clear.

Excellent week for the PS4 and the Switch. A good summer ahead for Hardware sales it seems.

Those months are usually slow but yeah should be better this year for sure.

Jesus so that is 3million Switch consoles by the start of last month... 10m to go and it passes the WiiU global lifetime. That is just amazing in all the right ways.

So what's with the huge sales difference for Switch?

Are Nintendo neglecting Europe and sending most of their stock to the US? Or is it just not as popular in Europe?

Switch is crazy expensive here for some reason.

in denmark :

Switch is 2999 kr = 443$ (us)  (and its sold out now, places I looked)

PS4 is like 1800 kr = 264$ (us)

Switch got USA and Japan in the bag!
