"Nintendo’s new home console-type video game system, Nintendo Switch, launched worldwide on March 3 and is off to a promising start. In particular, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has won immense popularity with recorded sales of 2.76 million units and 1-2-Switch has been generating buzz. Both of these games were released at the same time as the hardware. The sales volume for hardware and software during this period reached 2.74 million units and 5.46 million units respectively."

Sounds like sold to me...

look at slide 2 of their presentation, it says shipped and again fiscal results have always been shipped.

i cant believe im having this argument with someone who has been on this site for 9 years, its pretty embarrassing.

KLXVER Nintendo gives sell-through only in presentation by president at the ir events, in the FY earning  papers/slides whatever, they report sold-in numbers.

Excellent week for the PS4 and the Switch. A good summer ahead for Hardware sales it seems.

Sold-in numbes are sold to retailers?

Can you please just copy and paste the part where it says that instead of trying to insult me with something I dont really care about, that would be nice.

already told you i cant on my phone. just believe me the 2.74 million figure is shipments and Nintendo has always reported shipments in their quartery results.

Exactly, sales to customers is sold-through! I omitted to mention that their sold-in numbers include digital sales of course.

Ok, so the "incredible" Zelda BOTW sales were really just Nintendo shipping more games than units then... Not really a big accomplishment.

90% attach rate is impressive though which is what Nintendo estimates.

Yeah, its great and all, but there wasnt much else to buy in March.

that argument really doesnt fly, people dont typically buy hardware unless there is software they want on it and clearly people wanted a Switch to play Zelda.

Its not really an argument. Zelda was the reason to get it in March...
