That is correct. They'd assign me someone else. However the hours and pay would be the same.Theres no chance of a raise for a while despite me working with this company about 9-10months. This is due to me being an out of state employee, so they treat me as if Im new despite me being at rhe company for 7 months in Oregon.

The hours are better and the pay is slightly better

Would the new work also be with out of state status?

Honestly, 10 months with a company isn't actually very long. If it had been 2 years I'd say definitely keep it but if the new job improves your quality of life then take it. It seems they really want you there so they might appreciate you more and can give you a raise once you work there long enough.

No. This company is local (well only Ohio) and still growing. Its been around for maybe 15-25 years and is eating away a lot of the competition (including my current company).

10 months isnt long, I agree. But in a field where the average employee lasts 2 months its not too bad XD

Plus I think my boss is giving me hints that they may not need me or may fire me. Reasons being she texted me about 3 weeks ago asking if Id be interested in taking a position in a construction company (da fuq) and as of a week ago she was talking to me and suggested I try being an independent care giver... which felt very odd coming from your boss in a field where we compete directly with independent care givers

I'm gonna be a CNA soon. Which will pay fine. After that I'll aim for LPN

Aim for BSN or bust. You want to aim higher in nursing industry.

Nursing is my short term goal. its what I want while Im really deep into school

So what's the long term goal?

I'm mostly in school to train to become a psychologist. Its the career I find the most interesting. Yeah the pay isnt too much more than a nurse, but I still really like it and is unlikely to be replaced by robots any time soon

I hope that it works out well for you!!

That's the good thing about karma. It doesn't care if you believe in it or not :)

Well, if karma does exist, I'm not sure if that'd be a good thing for you on this site!

Nah, VGC is absolutely great for my karma. So many unjustified bans. Together that's at least one more raise on the next years.

Oh yeah, I saw something about nurses for elderly people being replaced by robots the other day. Polar bear robots actually so...

I think you've said before you want to be a psychologist. But... how are you doing those hours + your 2nd job and doing school as well? :O

Youre forgetting also driving my gf to her schooling most days and hanging out with her at least 3-6hrs a day + all of what you said v.v XD the answer is making time! The thing is, you never have time so you carve it out instead!

I guess that makes the decision easy then.

I don't know if anyone brought this up yet, but you'd be making $1740.27 a month before taxes.

22 hours a week at $8.15 = $179.30
19 hours a week at $11.70 = $222.30

41 hours a week for a total of $401.6 a week.

Times 52 weeks in a year = $20,883.20

divided by 12 months = $1740.2666666666 a month.

Also yeah, that's not great money, though...I don't make much more and cost of living is pretty high here.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
