Forums - Gaming - 5th DLC announced for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, remastering 8 Zombies maps - $29.99

Announced by co-studio head of Treyarch Jason Blundell in a video made together with YouTuber JCbackfire:

Details:

  • Releasing May 16th on PlayStation 4
  • No pricing yet
  • Treyarch will hold a livestream on May 8th at 11am PDT
  • Maps included are Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa (World at War), Kino Der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-La, Moon (Black Ops) and Origins (Black Ops 2)
  • Sounds like there will be new little easter eggs such as ciphers
  • Sounds like the maps aren't simply ported over the Black Ops 3 and the new consoles, instead it sounds like they're proper remakes
  • New piece of storyline info: "July 4th, 1941: Richtofen returns to the lab under Alcatraz, where he meets Victus, arriving from the empty Earth with the Kronorium. Upon reading the Kronorium, Richtofen discovers numerous timelines documenting their fates, and learns about the blood vials."

My friends and I are really excited about this! I kind of had a feeling this would happen seeing as how the last zombie map had a bit of the old maps in them.

Megaton for fans of treyarc zombies. Their prayers have been answered.

The biggest megaton isn't even that they're bringing these 8 maps to Black Ops 3, the biggest megaton is the fact that Treyarch has given us the full Zombies timeline.

Fantstic news!!! As a huge fan of the Treyarch Zombie Mode I am really excited for this!!!

Black ops 3 sales must be still good if Activision have green lit this sizable expansion. And I imagine this will boost sales even more.

Starting today at 11am EST YouTubers will be uploading gameplay of 1 map each today and giving info about those maps, today is Moon. Some general new info on the DLC:

  • Zombies Chronicles costs $29.99
  • 2 new Whimsical GobbleGums and a bunch of new Mega GobbleGums
  • Weapons such as the Galil and M16 return
  • No PhD Flopper (R.I.P)
  • You play as the original 4 on the original maps

Screenshots of all the maps:

Origins info and gameplay tomorrow.

While I think the price is a bit much, I'd love to play some of them. I enjoyed what time I did with friends on the Zombies in BO1 and 2, 3 however was just poor standard. It was like it was trying to be more when all we wanted was a quick easy survival. I liked the Nuketown from BO2 for example, small map and fun to play. None of that in BO3. Good for those that like it however, the updated maps look nice.

Hmm, pie.

The new GobbleGums:
