Forums - Gaming - Thumper any good? It's Switchin in two weeks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfOwkFvumuk

Thumper was formally released on PC and PS4 last October, so it’s great to see it also coming to the Switch.
There’s a trailer on the eShop, but while you’re here, check out a few screenshots here.

Thumper will run 1080p while docked, and at 720p in portable mode. 60fps is supported in both modes.
As you would expect, HD Rumble is included as well.

The rhythm game spectacle is coming to the Switch eShop on the 18th of May.
Listed price of €19.99 / £15.99 / $29.95 AUD.

Apparently it's also coming soon to Xbox One.

It's one of my favorite VR game, great rhythm game. Hoever it's very much enhanced by VR, to judge distance, and with a good subwoofer to really feel that thumping. I couldn't imagine playing this on a handheld, yet people manage to enjoy Wipeout on a handheld as well :)

That's what I read elsewhere too. That if you try it in VR, it's hard to go back.

Maybe it's time to do this: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/05/how-to-sort-of-test-vr-on-nintendo-switch/ xD

I've heard good things. Will likely buy once it comes Switchside.

An official announcement has been sent out regarding Thumper’s release date on Switch.
The title is confirmed for May 18 on the Switch eShop also in America.

Thumper will run 1080p while docked, and naturally at 720p in portable mode.
60 frames per second is supported with both play styles. As you would expect, HD Rumble is included as well.

It could work, but what about the subwoofer :) It's sensory overload in VR with a good surround setup, so good!

I recorded this while playing in VR

That's not the fastest gameplay, I haven't beaten new game+ yet. I was at 6+ I think, it speeds up a lot!
I don't even recognize it with the sound coming from my laptop speakers, like 80% is missing :/ Should still be great with decent headphones though.

Looks trippy :p

Neat to see the Switch get all these ports too

The sound is a little bit muted in your clip (still liked ), another one played afterwards and that one was louder.

Either way I guess you'll need good headphones on the Switch to get the most out of it too.

Sooner than I was expecting. Nice!
