Why would they cut themselves into their own flesh like that?



If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I'll be very surprised if this in the retail version. It seems to mainly be a tool for developers. Of course, I could be wrong and they could actually decide to follow through with it.



I'm calling fake on this, unless Polygon got wind of it which is why they asked for this feature in an article.



 

The PS5 Exists. 


Every developer kit has the ability to display the framerate or whatever information you like in a "debug overlay" that sits on top of the rendered seen and can be manipulated in real time to display different data, or to manipulate objects in the scene that you've hooked into the overlay. Aside from that, Dev kits have typically had a series of lights, or other LED/LCD displays to give additional feedback that has never been found on a retail console.

This definitely will not be on the retail model.
