A third-person action game set in a new Remedy-created universe.

505 Games parent company Digital Bros has signed a worldwide PC and console publishing agreement with Remedy Entertainment for a brand new game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, including Steam, across both retail and digital versions, the company announced.

The 505 Games parent will contribute €7.75 million in development funding, and providing marketing and publishing services for retail and digital versions worldwide.

The new game, code-named “Project 7” and built on Remedy’s proprietary Northlight engine, is a “cinematic third-person action game” set in a new Remedy-created universe. It features an “intriguing story and game structure offering a long-lasting experience,” and “the deepest game mechanics yet in a Remedy game.”

€7.75 million doesn't sound that much for the type of game Remedy makes, they surely must have other investors. Or it turns out to be episodic and they're gonna wait and see how Episode 1 does before committing on 2. 505 is not a big publisher.

Shame MS doesn't fund Alan Wake 2 tho, there need to be more games with that kinda vibe.

@Turkish:
7.75m euros is only 505/DigitalBro's own investment. The article doesn't specify Remedy or other parties' investment.

If remedy doesn't make changes in how they develop games, this might be their last game ever.

Without a big name like Microsoft covering their losses and indulging their ambitious and expensive ideas, they won't last long.

When Remedy was under Microsoft, they games' sales were terrible. Alan Wake and Quantum Break not an excellent, but quite good games. And they didn't deserve so little sales.
I hope this time, without IP-killing publisher, everything will be alright.

Nice, smart money move for Remedy. Now they can get some better sales.
