Nope, it isn't. It's in stock at Good Deals Hunting, fulfilled by Amazon, selling for 397. The 299 price is a "just launched" used reseller. Most likely a scam. Been several of those.

Really, Amazon is used to selling consoles with supply issues by third party sellers! The egregious thing is that amazon hosting sellers that sell a 299$ console at 400$... I wonder if Amazon earns something from that!

Thats not really "in stock" though. If its on stock itll be at the very top spot sold out in under 20min

Yes, it's been out of stock for at least 2 days on Amazon.
