Forums - Nintendo - Do you think we will ever see a true...CASTLE...

I'd take a newer exploration / grinding one too, but like others here I'd really like to see a return to the old-school design.

My personal favourite is Castlevania III.  I liked the ability to switch characters and the game had a few more paths to offer reasons for multiple playthroughs, but the game was still firmly focused on action.  If you were to start with something like that, make it a bit bigger and spruce up the gameplay with some of the improvements from Super CV IV, I'd probably buy day one.

I also want fresh graphics and music, I've had enough of the 8-bit revival.

An Aria of Sorrow-esque 2D HD portable Castlevania? Would purchase in an instant.

I'm hopeful, but also realistic. Konami hasn't given us much reason to think they will ever revive these games. But you never know. If we got a 2D Castlevania, I'd pre-order it immediately.

My favourites are Castlevania 3 (the best of the "old" style, in my opinion) and Symphony of the Night.

Terrible analogy. Anywho, its an easy way to explain that style of game.

Yeah, its essentially a game with explortation, back tracking, and upgrades. But just saying Metroidvania is easier.

Naughty Dog called Crash during devlopment "Sonic's Ass" since you saw the back of Crash. They modeled it to look like Sonic in 3D before there was Sonic in 3D.

Well there were those bonus levels in Sonic games where you see his ass.
