No it's not. 2nd AAA Nintendo release sure, which is relevant, but those aren't the only games on the system.

Yeah people defintely bought the system for 1,2 switch and super bomberman, poor Nintendo games having too much competition.

There's no need to exaggerate what i said. MK8D being the first AAA Nintendo game since the Switch's launch is obviously relevant (45% of US Switch owners buying it day 1 makes that clear), i say as much in that comment, but your original claim is still wrong. You didn't add any qualifiers for what constitutes a "game", so saying it's the Switch's 2nd is inaccurate.

Incredible. Nintendo seeing these sales might mean other Wii U titles to Switch? I'd love Wii U Smash or Mario on the go.

Even the remasters from older games on the WiiU would be great to see going to the Switch, imagine Twilight Princess or Wind Waker on a portable machine.

My body is ready.

I think it's widely agreed that literally every game ever made would be great on the Switch. Wii U ports are the beginning, Skyrim is the revelation. Give us Sonic Boom.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I'd buy the hell out of Wind Waker HD on Switch. Definitely hope that comes. Hoping for other top Wii U games to make it over like a Smash Bros Deluxe, Mario Maker, Monster Hunter, and the 2d/3d marios.

As someone who skipped the Wii U (the first Nintendo portable or home system I have passed on) I love the idea of all those Wii U titles on the go as I play handhelds a lot (3DS and PSV have had major play time).

I'll never be able to understand the craze with Mario Kart, I'm afraid. Those are some great sales, indeed.

When I get a Switch this will likely be the first game I get with it.  It has this amazing feature where you can race a friend who is physically sitting next to you.  I think they call it "couch co-op" and one can hope such advanced technology will come to other racing titles in the future.

(I am serious though that my love for racing games died last generation when couch co-op seemingly went extinct.  That 80% of the fun in racing games for me.)

Yeah, i'm in the same boat. It's fun with friends, but outside of that Mario Kart's appeal is mostly lost on me. I seem to dislike effectively everything focused on driving though, regardless to how realistic or comical. I'm the Grinch of driving :p

I do like certain racing games (used to enjoy NfS Most Wanted a lot, and had plenty of fun playing Project Gotham Racing), but for some reason I really don't get the fun of Mario Kart. It's a frustrating exercise of skill that could be hampered at any moment because the game actively tries to screw the racer on first position and give all sorts of advantages to those behind, to find some artificial balance. I guess it's cool to screw up friends that way, but I can't honestly find enjo-

Don't get me wrong, couch co-op is fantastic, and that's definitively an enticing bonus I can see with Mario Kart. Some of my dearest memories playing videogames are also having friends on my side, everyone with a controller, playing on the same screen, indeed. I guess what I don't get is the game per se; its mechanics, they way it works and how it performs. It bores me, I can never really seem to properly enjoy a match. I get the Switch right now is starved for games - particulary co-op ones -, but I'd definitively take chances with any other couch co-op game, whether Switch, WiiU or any other console to be honest.

The most impressive thing to me is that people like myself who already have a Wii U and Mario Cart 8 went out and purchased it for the Switch anyway. I'm sure not everyone who purchsed Mario Cart also ones a Wii U, but I bet a large % of Switch owners bought a Switch.

Zelda BotW was alone huge system seller, and now with MK8D Switch will continue to sell like crazy for months.
