I don't think so also, I think 18 millions is what Sony estimated for this financial year, so maybe he is talking about this year only

The PS2 took a loonngg time to sell that many units, plus it had the advantage of dominating a thriving Japanese market, it was just perfect storm territory. I highly doubt any system is going to approach ps2's total again. 

Whoever thought it would? Still think PS5 will release next year.

Bring out the campaign bottles because PS4 is now confirmed to outsell PS2. Wahoo!

The cheapest the PS4 will go is probably 149$.... the PS2 hit 99$.

Id love to be wrong, but I dont think its going to sell that much.

PS4 is doing pretty great, but it's already 3 years into it's lifecycle. I know nobody wants to believe in console cycles anymore but PS4 doesn't have more than 3 good years ahead of it. If they pump out another 50 million in those 3 years plus 10 in the "winter" years, that's about 120...which would still be pretty amazing, but short of PS2.

But 4 is bigger than 2? I guess analysts don't need math.

It's not going to outsell PS2. It won't even get near those numbers. Wii numbers yeah. Only thing to ever come close was DS and even if Switch sells like this for years won't even touch DS sales.

Could it be though that the PS4 makes them more profit than the PS2?

I doubt anybody thinks it will...
