yeah it is pretty damn impressive that arguably the first 3 big releases for the Switch (Zelda, Mario Kart, Shovel Knight package) all have 90+. Talk about a way to build momentum.
I actually just dipped into Shovel Knight for the time ever and it is pretty great : o full of charming humor and colorful little characters, it has a lot more heart than your average 16 bit (style at least) platformer. I know its a third party game but I believe the current Treasure Trove set is a temporary exclusive for the Switch so. Cool game.
As for Mario Kart 8- excited to hear about the critics giving it raving reviews with the some updated tech/graphics and the expansive added Battle Mode. I never played the Wii U version really so will be mega excited to get it in a week and play. Another gorgeous looking game.
and then obvs Zelda speaks for itself.
I have to say, originally I was kind of shitting on the Switch's launch window library, but the third party games have really made it killer combined with a few big Nintendo IP. Between Fast RMX, Zelda, Binding of Isaac, Mario Kart, Tetris/Puyo, and Shovel Knight, should be a solid system for a while. I still hope they have some surprise summer or Fall releases because those sections of the year are mysterious at this point, but overall I'm pretty content with the release schedule so far.
But, yeah, shocking that the Switch in its first like month or two has already had three 90 Metacritic games, two of which are unusually high scores you only see rarely (94 potentially for M8Deluxe and 97 for Zelda).
