This bundle comes with a 128gb Micro SD card and 2 games which will leave it empty but mean you have to find a means to bring 2 game carts with you and change them back and forth.

I would much rather have both games in the system rather than doing that and having a total of 156GB space empty.

Well if you are referring to portability, you are going to want a case for the Switch anyway since it needs a means to protect the screen.  As such, just get this case here:  https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel/dp/B01MY9JB2U

Stores the Switch and provides two hard plastic cases that can hold 4 games a piece and are stored securely under the Switch when the case is closed.  And boom, you can take 8 games with you physically and reserve your 156GB for digital only releases, DLC, etc.

Switch tablet perfectly fits in my pocket, Joycons in the other, no need for opening the top of the system and changing carts this isn't the gameboy era, if I can avoid opening a system for no reason I'll take it.

Besides again, the bundle gives 156gb of storage space yet uses none of it... if anything it becomes less valuable in that you have to buy the case you are chatting about, would be a much better and more suitable bundle if one of the two games was a digital code.

If you're comfortable pocketing your system then I guess I see your argument...kinda.

For me, the Switch is the only console where physical copies retain all their value from the past, with them eliminating the need for installs.  The fact physical games don't need installs is the only reason a 128GB card IS sufficient. So again, I very much appreciate the physical copies because the more games are on physical, the less I have to spend on Micro SD cards.

Desperate people + questionnable bundle = sure sale :)

Nah people aren't that desperate to play Zelda n MK8, see Wii U!

How is it preying on anyone? This is a realistic bundle a large number of people would buy anyways. I'm confident that people buying this already want these games and an SD card.

People are desperate, they know that, so they don't just sell the console but tack on shit people may not want as a way to take advantage of those people. It's like selling cups of water in the desert with a four course meal simply because you can. It's bullshit.

1. I think you and a few others have no clue about business and the concept of supply and demand.

2. I can't believe you are equating water (critical for human life) to a game console (purely unnecessary entertainment device).

Simple fact is, a good business owner recognizes the disparity between supply and demand and is creative to increase revenue and profits without breaking trust. Gamestop is doing just that with this bundle. They are putting together a high quality bundle that is reasonably priced for a product that is in high demand and very limited supply. Any retailer not doing this with at least Zelda and an SD Card as a bundle are frankly stupid.

Hell, Amazon is only putting up their limited supply behind their prime owners only paywall. Granted, I think that has more to do with protecting their site from surges in buyers while benefitting those higher value buyers.

However, if I were the CEO/VP/Director of any retailer, I would be doing the exact same thing from the time when initial launch supply died off until stock begins to normalize. I'd have a bundle with the console + ZeldaBotW + SD Card. Only way I would not is if it appeared like my stock wasn't going to sell through before the next small shipment came.

Plus, what you are ignoring is that this is just for online sales. The stores are still getting a trickle of stock that is selling shortly after arrival. If someone wants to buy just the console, there are plenty of ways.

Oh yeah I guess there is the resellability with a digital copy which you lose out on, but I really can't see myself wanting rid of Breath of the Wild or MK8D at any point... but keep in mind that I still have my original copies of Zelda 1 and 2 on the NES and every game since then too, so reselling games has never been a part of my thinking.

Very good point though, to gamestop they would rather more physical copies on the market since they know a digital game sale isn't something they'll ever get their hands on to resell again.

they're selling you about even priced stuff there, 300$ for the Switch, 60+60 for the software so 120, then the BOTW Season pass at like 20 (or whatever it costs?), then a fairly big flashdrive maybe valued at $60, so a total of almost $500 in value so approximately reasonable for what they're asking

the problem is that generally people seem to expect a discount for buying a bundle. after all they're providing the store with a larger sum of cash by getting everything there.

But Gamestop is stupid and oblivious to this so want to get every penny. Gamestop rarely gives good bundle deals and that in itself sort of defeats the point of a bundle in the first place (at least for the consumer)
