well duh, dont you know women empowerment is the cool new thing, and its disney, company will do anything to take advantage of it for marketing... But dont worry while rest of these male women defenders are busy creating strong independent woman to satisfy certain section of the media, the real women in video game are busy creating character that matters, like amy henning creator of Nathan Drake and her next EA star war game has a male protagonist.

2 things worried about is 1. DICE's ability to tell a good story 2. the gameplay mechanics of SWBF1 return, it was not a fun game to play, the modes and objectives just sucked, hope it's more like Battlefield this time.

This was a good trailer and it's sad to see yet another useless controversy started by women hating gamorgatorz. After the last few months of great games with female protags, Rogue One which was an amazing film, why are you guys still whining. It's good the industry is moving away from the boring "30 something generic white male".  You really wanna return to this?

the problem is not that she is a female protagonist, its the people who makes an issue out of nothing and go on trumpheting that how important is to have a female protagnist in this day and age and trying to belittle or overlook others male/female characters we had, like you just did by generalizing it into white male 30 characters. fuck yeah i would choose nathan drake over lara croft anyday and that is not because he is male, than her. same goes gerald and aloy.

and about those male women defenders if you follow neil druckman on twitter he is the biggest advocate of gender swapping. granted he is a great writer but he will force a strong wanna be female character in the story just for the sake of having her, Nadine is the perfect example she was useless in UC4. (but thats another topic). I would have prefered Amy Henings (woman) version of uncharted 4 than neils (man) see how there is no discrimination.

the main problem is this new trend gender bending of shouting from the roof top "oh hey look women are doing a better job than men" is bringing controversy and detractors who in turn will always point out things if the other side is doing the same. And major companies like Disney are cashing on this toxic trend and harming the actual cause.

I had to stop reading there, what kind of BS is that? The only people who are making an issue of the gender of this game's protag in this thread has been you and the guy you quoted. On the youtube comments too the only ones making an issue are the gamorgatorz crying about her gender. I haven't seen any article trumpeting how awesome it is that she's a female.

The problem lies with GG, not with the directors making female protags. You need to accept there are more type of humans than only white males, and certainly in the Star Wars universe it shouldn't be a problem to have a female lead. A similar controversy gets started when Idris Elba was rumored to be the next Bond or the black dude from Episode 7. Issue seems to be that certain folks are scared of seeing humans not from their gender/race in a positive daylight and places of power! "forcing female leads" is such a silly argument btw, how is it forced? What will make female leads not feel "forced"? Not in this trailer nor in the entirety of Rogue One has the character felt "forced". The theme of female superiority you are alluding simply does not exist with them.

Even before having played a game or seen a movie with female leads your type already shouts ES JAY DABULYU, ridiculous.
