It did, but they seem to have made it much more of complicated mess since that point and the game I think will not live up to those day 1 expectations.

This game always seemed like a fail attempt to create a "mh western focused franchise", the moment i saw the trailer back in the ps4 reveal i got the mh feeling from this franchise.

I don't understand what happened to this game, it was actually playable at TGS or some event like that and I think a beta was also going to happen. I definitely don't think it's cancelled, just as Capcom themselves have said, it's being completely reworked.
