Forums - Sony - Naughty Dog teases Uncharted: The Lost Legacy may be 'over 10 hours long'

10 hours is probably an optimistic estimation, but even 7 - 8 hours would be great. Even then, i'm surprised how quickly they've managed to develop it. I assume they're linearly re-using the tech from Uncharted 4.

Naughty Dog always comes off as overly pretentious and self absorb to me.

That reason for not including Drake ridiculous. The Uncharted series will not end, just ND's involvement. What they're really doing is just ensuring Nathan Drake unusable after they leave. Hideo Kojima did the same thing. Snake and Otacon were originally suppose to be executed. He did that because did not want anybody to write those characters after he left the series. By killing Snake that mean whoever picked up the series and choose to keep it in same world would mostly be starting from scratch anyways. It like a deterrent.

Yeah, but that's not really true, since Nate isn't dead. There is any number of ways that a post-UC4 story could drag Nate back into that world, like a kidnapping for instance. Don't want to reveal any other spoilers but given what Nate and Elena are doing at the end of UC4 (pre-epilogue) there is plenty of scope for a new adventure if Sony wants to hand it off to a new studio. It would be a mistake IMO, but there is absolutely no reason why Nate's involvement in UC has to be over.

It'd be longer than Uncharted 1, 2, and 3, so i'd say this would be shockingly long for something that started as DLC and has been made relatively quickly.

I'm not ok with games costing full price and beeing like single digit complete time.. but lots of people like the more focused experiences cause they don't have lots of time to play.
also, didn't know this was DLC. so if this is not 50-60$ it's probably a good value.

Yeah it's not for everyone. Obviously they're not as good value as something like Fallout or Persona, but having 10~ hours of focused action can be great sometimes. UC4 has a level which is like 20 minutes of pure set-piece, it was ridiculous

$40 is my guess for now. 10 hours would make it longer than the original trilogy, but about a third shorter than UC4. The latter is what it'll be judged next to, so $40 would be a good price point.

If anything, i'd say they've actively left the foundation for Nathan's inclusion in the future. Having a sequel which follows both Nathan and his daughter together would follow on originally from how 4 ended, allow for Nathan's inclusion, and set a future up for Cassie.

They dont have to die. That is just the most aggressive way of doing it. Your last sentence is entirely my point, so I dont know why they gave that pretentious ass answer. They're leaving the series and they dont want any room for somebody to mess with their character they became invested in. That is fine, but dont give us that dumb answer. "He's a family man", no he's whatever SONY pay's you to make him.

I had no clue these Uncharted games were so short.

I also thought they would take longer to beat.

I played Golden Abyss on the Vita and it took me 2 or 3 days to complete (maybe 10h).
But recently finished Uncharted 1 Remastered and it took only 5h to finish the story and finished it in one afternoon.

Hopefully 2-4 will take longer. Because I need something over easter.

Sony isn't as pretentious with their icons as Nintendo which seem to not being able to die or something. Naughty Dog has always enjoyed freedom in their games and use their character as they saw fit. The ending of Uncharted 4 was their decision not Sony's. If Sony did influence the Uncharted storyline or ND so much why where they even allowed to make TLOU. A new IP thus forming a great financial risk,  sure it turned out great but it was a risk none the less.

Drake's time in gaming has ended yet there are plenty of openings to develop a new intresting character. Chloe, Drake's brother and surely Victor Sullivan are not done exploring. Yet not a single other studio than ND should attempt this and ND has explicitly stated they are done with Uncharted.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Is this download only or is it getting a blu ray release?
