I've yet to hear of anyone defeating them in ranged combat with a bow. As soon as you provoke them into shooting it's pretty much game over. Makes you wonder why they bother with their fire attacks etc as one volley of shock arrows will end it. Lucky for me they're very honorable fighters :)

I got whacked by a Stone Talus on a mountain summit near Gerudo Valley, I was violently thrown off the mountain, fell for one second before deploying the paraglider, I was still moving backward from the force of the impact but eventually was able to get back to the mountain (although I was so low I preferred reloading to scaling it again).

I encountered a shrine that required me to bring a block of ice through very hot places without melting, and since it got very tedious, i decided to attach some Octoballoons to the ice block and fly it to the end of the puzzle, and it worked.

Quite early in the game I decided to venture to central hyrule just to check things out. I made it close to the castle relatively safe but once there I realize I'm still too weak to face the guardians. After a couple of one hit kills I was really scared of those mofos so I decided to gtfo. I left my horse a bit close so I decided to run for it but almost instantly have 2 fuckers following me, and after narrowly dodging the lasers I say fuck it and call the horse which alerts yet another guardian.

The horse starts running towards me but I think "nah I'm screwed I won't be able the mount the horse fast enough" so during the rush when we finally meet I just pressed A like crazy and to my surprise Link immediately mounts it without losing speed. Of course I didn't know you could do that so I was like wtf! That was awesome! And I almost dropped my gamepad lol

Also, my first Combat Trial was a Moderate Test of Strength, having only 3 hearts. Yeah, it was rough. I kid you not, I'm sure I saw the Game Over Screen about 20+ times, but I never gave up. It only took ALL of my weapons, my arrows, some bows and 2 shields, with some help of the Bomb rune to finally take that mofo down. It dropped good weapons for my time in the game. It didn't feel worth it for all the stuff I had to waste, but man, did it feel good? Yes, it did.

Yeah you can tell the devs watched LotR a few dozen times and loved Legolas's moves in The Two Towers :P

You can do his awesome horse mount and shield surf and all the crazy bow skills.  Pretty cool.

This one isn't unique to me but I believe it was going to the forgotten temple. Talk about an oh shit oh shit keep moving you little fucker moment. It was just crazy, early-ish in my play through and i knew I couldn't take a single guardian strike. Lazers zipping past all around.

Well I haven't watched those movies so maybe that is why it was new to me XD

But I think it had more to do with the situation that led to it. If I had found out while just horsing around :p it would have been less epic.
