please no game comes even close to xenogears

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

^Got there before me. Shining Force 3 is a game that stands out for me as having a deep storyline.

and I'm sure your ignorant of Shining force 3's and Panzer Dragoon Saga's story, both of them only have had a fraction of the exposure of a successful playstation rpg like Xenogears

Xenogears was successful but apparently not enough to encourage Square to make the other proposed games in the Xenogears universe

successful enough to warrant a US greatest hits edition, which I believe was 400k copies and according to the sales figures here it''s sold nearly 900k in Japan, compared to shining force 3's recorded 130k for the first scenario and Panzer Dragoon's 110k in Japan and we all know that all late release US games for the saturn were very small production runs, so shining force 3 and Panzer Dragoon saga saw maybe a tenth of the number of copies produced of Xenogears, and that stands to say it saw far more exposure than the saturn games

Or, hell, any given Western RPG for that matter.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
