Overwatch is too demanding for switch isnt it? not GPU wise but CPU wise?
Nevermind, more or less 60 fps always on PS4 at 1080p.
Switch should be able to do a 720p 30fps or so of the game, at the least.

This is one of the few games that has interested me this gen.
Hope it has gyro-aiming. I don't want to aim with the stick.
OW on the go would be nice.Doesn't sound likely, though.

Doubtful. That would mean they would have to spend the most effort on the platform that will sell the least.

3 hours? Zelda barely holds up at 3 hours. Overwatch is far more taxing and would require constant use of the wifi signal. That would drain the battery in less than an hour would be my guess. I couldn't even imagine how the switch would help up even an hour playing a graphically intense game on wifi. |
Overwatch is far more taxing based on what? It's not exactly an impressive looking game. A game like Overwatch would be mostly played at home anyway, as it requires wifi.

Surely it can't be that hard.
I'd die for Overwatch on Switch.
And if Blizzard made a special edition for Switch, I'd preorder that in a heartbeat.

Because western AAA 3rd parties for the most part don't really need the Nintendo Switch. A lot of western AAA devs seem to have a snobbishly low opinion of Nintendo, some of them haven't developed for Nintendo at all and the majority of them seem to be perfectly content with what they have with the twins and PC markets. The only way a lot of them are going to have a meaningful presence on the Switch is if Nintendo sells so many of them that it forces their hands. And even if they do eventually start developing for the Switch, they'll have to compete with the devs that came early and already courted the Switch userbase.
You know who does need the Nintendo Switch though? Indies and Japanese developers. Indies because a lot of them are getting lost in the shuffle everywhere else and the Switch is another chance to find an audience like how Shin'en, Yacht Club Games, Choice Provisions and others have been able to do. Japanese devs need Nintendo because traditional console gaming is dying in Japan and the Switch is going to be the only game in town for portable, non-smartphone gaming.
My only hope for indies is that Nintendo really ups the quality control because the last thing we need is a repeat of what the Steam marketplace has turned into. And I do hope that Overwatch eventually makes its way to the Switch before the game becomes old and busted. The last thing I want is for Blizzard to say "Hey, Switch owners, here comes Overwatch!" when everyone else is getting Overwatch 2.
Even if it did come to the switch, I'd probably not play it. Still, it'd be cool if it did come.

Along with stuff like "http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/03/nintendo_switch_wi-fi_issue_could_be_why_your_games_keep_dropping_frames". An only online intense MMO seems like a horrible choice for a handheld. Specially once with possible wifi issues. |
I think I read that Nintendo is aware of the problem and will fix it with the next firmware update too
OT: I have yet to play Overwatch so it would be nice to see it on the Switch!
