Forums - Sony - nier: Automata has some framerate issues

It seems like the framerate can go up to 20 frames lower than the targeted 60 fps. Odd enough, sometimes the PS4 Pro will have a lower fps than the base model (this only occurred once in the video).


Can't say I am disappointed in this. 60 fps is already good enough, but I know some users may be disappointed to see the shifts. Perhaps targeting a locked 45-50 fps would be more beneficial? I'm not too sure in all honesty. Either way, this isn't really game changing to me.

So, never? 

I mean, Nintendo games usually go for 60 fps, but that doesn't count to most hardcore gamers.



Don't care, getting it for PC, can optimize it myself.

Maybe its time for Nintendo to teach other developers how to do it :P

It's really easy: lower the graphics. And even with this, Nintendo is far from perfect with Zelda. 

 

The weird thing for me is that the framerate drops in Nier are random and usually not in demanding situations. We'll see if they can fix it with a patch. The drops happening  mostly when I'm not fighting, it doesn't really affect the gameplay so far... 



Thats slightly disappointing. Tye bit i played so far was silky smooth though. Still 45-60 is still better than 30.



Platinum Games are usually locked at 60 so unusual for them to not have one at 60 or one having trouble at all. I'm not sure why as while I love the game,nothing in it visually looks like the most demanding game. In fact it feels even less impressive than Bayonetta 2 aside from resolution.



I hope the PC version doesn't have this problem. Oh wait, on PC they give me, the consumer, the choice and the power to prevent issues like that.



If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

The game has pretty terrible framerate issues, but they're usually isolated to the open areas. The more linear corridors maintain fairly stable even with a million things on screen.

From a technical standpoint, the game is kind of garbage. But that doesn't stop it from being the most emotionally resonant game I have ever played.
