Zelda looks to be the only known contender at the moment. The other games are yet to release. Hopefully RDR2 and ME:A are good enough to join the conversation.

The year is still young, but so far, Zelda definitely has a chance to take that GOTY. From what I've played so far, it definitely feels like an excellently crafted game worthy of the title. If there's any game I feel could also be contender for it, it's Mario Odyssey, another game that looks greatly made, fresh looking new Mario like Galaxy and Mario 64 before it.

Horizon I feel will be one of the nominees for a chance as well.

Zelda. And there are a lot of reasons for that. First of all, no other game will get a 98 meta. And while that alone is not a 100% guarantee, it's an important one. That, coupled with the fact that Zelda is basically the game that represents a whole system (Switch) and the fact that The Game Awards and Geoff actually seem to "like" Nintendo tell me that Zelda will take it (they gave important awards to Splatoon like Shooter of the Year over games like CoD and Battlefront and awarded Nintendo as the developer of the year the year before).

Btw, I think Breath of the Wild will take the biggest number of GOTYs overall as well.

Cyberpunk 2077 either 2017 or 2018 GOTY

DAI is very mediocre with a empty pointless regional world with a dumbed down battle system. A half assed story and some of it is just nonesense. Not much in the way interesting and new characters. I never seen a game with such pointless literally going nowhere sidequests. Once you beat every enemy in the regions it's just giant empty feilds of nothing. Game is mediocre to play and pretty much garbage in everything else. DAO is still king.

I think it'll be between RDR & BoTW.

For me... probably Nier automata or Persona 5.

For the rest? Red dead 2.

Hmm, Zelda for now, but RDR has a really good chance at being just as acclaimed. I'll vote RDR for diversity's sake

I'm guessing right now my personal one will be Horizon: Zero Dawn.

However, I expect publications that cover all games (not system specific) to go heavily for Zelda this year.
