Forums - Sony - Persona 5 gets 10/10 in first western review

As for the save system, it's better than P4. If you're brave enough to read further, in P5 there are several save points scattered throughout the dungeons. It shouldn't be a problem to get to one of them when you want to save. Unlike in P4 where I believe there was one save point at the entrance, and then one right before the boss? As for outside of dungeons, you can save any time when you're in a town or building.
PS5 also has a Sleep Mode that let's you resume where you last left off in a game. But I wouldn't recommend using Sleep Mode as it can brick your system or delete all your save files if the power goes out.

I also only played the original version of P4 so I don't know what it was like in Golden.

Probably minor things, but I hate having specific save areas in RPGs like this. It was so obnoxious getting blindsided by an enemy and losing hours of progress after trying to finish more than half a dungeon. I would have much preferred having the option to save whenever I want; being forced to replay the same sections is a stupid punishment that's more tedious than challenging. Tokyo Mirage Sessions and SMT IV fixed this, so it would be dissaponting to me if 5 uses the same system as 4.

I also really didn't like how the sim elements were mostly self-contained and didn't really affect the main game (outside of combat). This isn't something unique to Persona, but I hold it to a higher standard because of how much I loved the sim parts of the game.

English-only voice acting was also a bit of dissapointment, though I'm glad that will be fixed in 5.

Note that I also only played the vanilla version of 4, so maybe this was improved in Golden. Really hope 5 fixes my first complaint...been too scared to look it up.

IIRC you can't save your game anywhere you want in P5, but you have several "rest rooms" in dungeons allowing you to save and to teleport between the rest rooms and the entry of the dungeon.

EDIT: Too slow :/

Ah interesting. Not ideal, but it definitely sounds improved from 4 at least. Wasn't enough of a problem to impact my purchase...so I'll see how much it bothers me when I play it.

Thanks for the info, guys!

I'm not a mario person, so i legitimately forgot.

Not surprised. Not every person is a mario fan :p

I like platforms a lot, so I definitely cannot wait for Yooka Laylee, odyssey, Shovel Knight, and anything else good

Snake pass, A hat in time, Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island,Crash Bandicoot Remastered Collection, Little Nightmares...

lots of good Platformers comeing.

Did they have the review embargo lifted like over three weeks before release? That's confidence right there.

Snake pass is a very unorthodox platformer. I hope it does well

It looks fun, so I hope it does too.

First and foremost I hope Persona 5 really does well.

All these action RPGs.... time to show turn based can do well too.
