Forums - Sony - My horizon: zero dawn " beat the game" review / thoughts.

45 hours in level 32 beat the game.
Have to say this is the best open world game that i ever played (well 50/50 with witcher 3)

First, yes the graphics are freaking amazing, but what i found way cooler was the atmosphere, the architecture of the many different cultures (eat this 1city only ff15)
Just walking around was a absolute pleasure, always something new to see especially when its about old stuff from ancient earth, i truly wanted to know what happened.

My imagination hasn't been making some many hours in a long time.
Aliens?
War?
Robots taking over?
Nuclear Apocalyps?
Why does the world look see weird, why are there animal robots?
What happened? I truly wanted, noo needed to know.
So satisfying when i finnaly found out, laying in bed thinking "this could actually happen in my lifetime" ( 2064)
I just kept asking more questions, kept going because i wanted to know more, and you will learn pretty much everything.

That was by far the best part! Absolutely phenomenal how hey created the mythology in this game!

Aloy is a likeable, very strong and sexy character, one of my favorite female characters ever!

Combat was great but yes can get easy, some parts are tough but almost all of them are still fun.

Sad there was not more weapons and outfits, for a rpg it was lackluster.

Many collectibles that shows interesting places and adds to the lore( any knows what those metal flowers are for hmm!?)

Still Need to do some side missions but what i did do reminded me of those in the witcher 3.

Music is absolutely amazing and sets the tone, that ending scene mixed with everything you know what happened + the music omg :(

Phenomenal game! Can't stress it enough how awesome this game was for me.

I agree with you on most of the points you made. Uncovering the lore of the world was very satisfying. I was stunned when I found out where exactly the game takes place.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

Great post play thoughts. I felt very much the same. I have only been sucked into a game like this about 3 times in my 25 years of gaming, and it has now completed my MT. Rushmore of games (Mario 64, Gran Turismo, The Last of Us, and now Horizon).

I have been trying to get into these open world games for years, but they have always felt outdated in every department. For the first time ever, not only did Horizon not feel outdated, it set new bench marks for Gameplay and Graphics while falling just behind TLOU in story telling.

Like the other big Horizon thread says, this game is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Nice stuff, I just finished it yesterday myself at 40hrs,around the same level. I think it was a great game for the most part. I like how each side quest has a sort of mini story to it and it wasn't just boring fetch quests. The world was great as well and well nothing to say about the graphics that hasn't already been said. Another thing I liked was that it wasn't so easy. I played it in hard mode and there was some sections that were a bit unforgiving and there wasn't much margin for error, but it made it fun. Definitely got killed a ton in some quests, especially the last one lol. My favorite part I gotta say was the story mode. At first I was all over the place doing side quests but as the story kept going I felt more and more like just getting to the juicy details. Great story, definitely will be looking forward to a sequel. The only thing that really bugged me a bit was the combat. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I felt as if I was using ranged fighting most of the time. Sneaking around was fun too, especially after having just played mgsv, but I feel like there wasn't much emphasis on close fighting. Also, sorry for no spaces. My phone being weird not letting me.
