Forums - Nintendo - Switch is Spain’s best console launch in history

But but but..it only did 80k in the UK, therefore it has done badly in Europe ;)

Does someone have a list of all territories we know of where Switch broke either Nintendo's record or the all-time launch record? It would be cool to make a map.

Well, that explains why it wasn't sold out anywhere, stupidly big shipment.

So how come everyone says the launch was shit in Europe if its breaking records everywhere.

Define everyone. Or refine it. That's cool, too.

Does that mean that Ninty allocated more stock than it usually does? I thinkt that's brilliant considering that Europe was a weaker market than America or Japan. They may as well get as big an installbase as possible. The more people have it, the more likely it is for those people to tell their friends. And since people in America and Japanese will buy it anyway, it's good to focus on other markets.

Wow, that is amazing. I'm honestly surprised, considering I have barely seen any advertising here.

I've seen TV ads in kids channels (Disney Channel, Boing, etc), but the advertising effort seemed low for me too.

Pretty impressive, I went to some stores in Madrid and was surprised of seeing big queues, so I expected good numbers, but not so good...

Well, it has sold 45.000 out of 50.000 units, it seems that the demand wwas pretty well estimated.

Huh, I keep forgeting that sales on Spain are always bigger than I think.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I don't think so given that the Switch is sold out in many other places. I don't see what's good about securing that Spanish stores don't run out of stock at the expense of selling less units.

Really? I think I've seen more Switch adverts these days around here that I have seen in my entire life for any other console, sans games like Call of Duty having exclusive content on a specific one.

5,000 out of 50,000 (10%) is in line with the sell ratio in other countries, so Spanish stores are virtually as out of stock just as anywhere else in Europe...
