Good to hear.
Mine is arriving tomorrow, but not from the US, just from Augsburg.
I assume the initial worldwide shipment of 2 million units will be sold out very soon.

| Drakrami said: So Wii sold 600,000 in 8 days. So I'd say less than 400,000 in 2 days? So if Switch sold more than Wii for the first 2 launch days. Switch sold more than 400,000 Not that impressive. Ps4 1million sold day 1. We all knew Switch was going to sell well right off the gun. |
considering it only has one game atm that is a must have and it launched in march this is very impressive. longevity is the unknown.
| NintendoPie said: It's nice of you to compare the PS2 to the Switch. Hopefully with your blessing the Switch will sell as well as it. |
Good for it then.... not even a comparison. Just stating a fact. A console lauch is less affected by its time of launch and more affected by its ability to meet demand. Yet some people keep talking about this march launch like it some sort of industry first or something that is hard to pull off.
But my response was more geared to him talking about million day launches in one region like that too is some sort of new thing.

Not really that sold out several stores around me have it. Debating if I should go get one or not.
The only thing that really matters, is if they sold every console available and it will keep on selling. Doesnt matter if X or Y console sold a million day one, what matters is what percentage of the available stock was sold. Waiting for official numbers

You could be right about 400k. Twilight Princess sold (according to VGC) 367k+ in its first week in the US and BoTW is said to have sold more than any standalone release title in their history. So, assuming everyone who bought BoTW also bought at least one Switch, ~400k is possible.
Not shocking I fully expected the nintendoguys to roar in on launch day and launch month..... but I am also expecting a mega drop come mid April ..... we shall see what happens

Thats great news! Not only it is releasing in march, but it also has a very "limited" supply for the month, which makes it the more impressing.
the real question is how it will sell in the upcomming months.Next week the sales will probably be low, due to low stock, but after that is the real question.
Edit:And this says its record sales in the Americas, as in not only US(as it should be obvious), making this news even better!
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Switch Japan 1st week sales 313,700
Wii U: 308,600
Wii: 371,900
PS4: 322,100
Note: Switch launch outside Xmas season

That's +300k in Japan.
So we have ~400k the Americas (probably ~500k, but we only know US numbers, right?), ~300k Japan, and 80k UK, for a total of ~780k missing rest of Europe and some Asian countries?
I hoped/expected 1 million FW; so far, pretty good. The 2 million shipment (before Kimishima said they'll increase supply) was for the whole month, right? We might see some shortage if so.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
